The Blue Capacitive Coupler Pack Once you have decided how many Couplers you require for your vehicle you simply purchase the amount of Blue Capacitive Coupler Packs that you will need in addition to your series 2000 unit. eg. if you require a C4 for your vehicle then you will need to purchase one series 2000 unit and 3x Blue Capacitive Coupler Packs. Inside the Blue Capacitive Coupler Packs are 1x Blue Coupler, 2.5 metres of marine wire, dual wall heatshrink and joiners. The figures on the following pages are estimates only, the true condition of your vehicle and the environmental conditions that it encounters will have an important bearing on which system is the correct one. A 4WD owned by a beach fisherman on the Coast will need more couplers than the same 4WD owned by an accountant in the country. The table supposes what ERPS refer to as standard conditions The vehicle ‘lives’ in a coastal region The vehicle is not exposed to continuous salt spray The vehicle is not garaged The vehicle is reasonably well maintained, eg washed once per week The vehicle is on the beach less than 3 times per year. If your vehicle encounters worse conditions than this you would be wise to consider additional couplers. There are six main considerations when deciding how to fit up your vehicle. 1.        The size (surface area) of your vehicle 2.        The age and condition 3.        The condition of the paint 4.        How the vehicle is too be used 5.        Where does it live – close to the sea (in the salt air), city (industrial fallout), or in the country but in contact with fertilisers or manure. 6.        How well it is looked after Note: For how to prolong the life of rusty vehicles see the Blue Booklet. The terms C1, C2 etc in the table on the following page refer to the number of couplers required. There is one type of  unit – the series 2000, which includes one red coupler – and the number of blue couplers required are simply added to this unit.
