INTERCOOLER SYSTEMS

Whilst delivering up to 20% extra power, the most noticeable advantage of Denco’s Water to air Intercooler system is the significant temperature drop in air being delivered to the engine.

Why Water-to-Air?

  • The water to air intercooler system is more efficient at cooling air temperatures than air to air intercoolers
  • Charge air temperatures from entering to exiting the intercooler barrel have dropped by an average of 49° per Denco Diesel testing.
  • Some air to air systems require common aftermarket extras to be removed. The efficient design of the Denco system means extras like bull bars and winches can be easily kept.
  • Less plumbing is required than with air-to-air systems, This means there is less air to charge the inlet system and results in less lag. The straight flow through minimizes air pressure dip across the intercooler.
  • An independent glycol filled system cools the charge air between the turbo and intake manifold.
  •  Internal baffles in the liquid chamber maximize the heat exchange between the charge air and the glycol.
  • The intercooler liquid runs a separate small and highly efficient radiator and fan so it does not contribute heat to your existing engine cooling systems.
  • Our straight forward design allows for easy fitting and all systems come complete with fitting instructions and a detailed parts list.

Technical Information

The Denco Intercooler system we use is a barrel liquid to air system to suit various diesel applications.

Keep Your Aftermarket Accessories

The efficient design of the intercooler kits we use mean common extras like bullbars, winches, driving lights and dual battery system can usually be kept, as some air to air systems are so cumbersome that common aftermarket extras as above must be deleted when the air to air intercooler is fitted.

 More Efficient Than Air To Air System

Test that have been carried out by Denco show that temperatures after intercooling with fully enclosed glycol intercoolers were around 20 degrees cooler than air to air methods tested. 

Better Looking

Under bonnet appearance is enhanced by the polished aluminium finish.

Less Volume Of Air To Charge

Less plumbing is required than with air to air versions, meaning there is less air to charge the inlet system resulting in less lag.

The straight flow through design minimises air pressure drop across the intercooler.

More Responsive At Low Speed

As you may beaware an independent fan gives better response at low speed, at low speeds the electric fan pulls in air to cool the glycol system. As the vehicle speed increases, air speed enhances the cooling effect.

 Independent Radiator System For Cooling Liquid

A small but highly efficient separate radiator and fan run the intercooler liquid, therefore not contributing to the heat in your existing engine cooling systems.
