MAXOGEN AIR FLOW SYSTEMS

Following years of experience designing induction systems for both touring and rally cars at the world championship level, ITG has made available a purpose designed air box to from the core of a super efficient air induction system for any car. The project emerged through demand from Lotus Elise owners to improve the induction for the higher output derivatives of the 1.8 ‘K’ series engine. The result is an optimized carbon fibre housing for the renowned MAXOGEN series of filters.

It was a short step from here to adapt this for the MGF and Land Rover Freelander models and the neat design will easily replace restrictive systems in most modern road cars. The performance gain from this system alone can be remarkable.

 The carbon fibre housing features a radiused induction trumpet feeding from a large diameter primary inlet ducting arranged to collect cool external air. The trumpet design recovers air pressure from air velocity, filling a plenum volume around the large surface area of the MAXOGEN filter. The radiused outlet of the feed clean, high pressure, cool air to the engine. The complete system is amazingly light, typically weighing only 800 grams, and yet it can handle air for up to 300 bhp with ease.
