Checking your driving speed can be dangerous! The Hillspeed Digital Speedometer is easy to read in virtually all light conditions. Despite sophisticated design, your conventional analogue speedometer probably cannot be read without taking your eyes off the road. Don't try that in busy traffic ! Neatly positioned on top of the dash within your feild of vision, the Hillspeed Digital Speedometer is safely read at a glance and can give visible warning when you exceed a pre set speed. It works between high rise city buildings, in tunnels. Anywhere. You don't take your eyes off the road and you are aware of your speed while you drive. Act now drive safely and avoid speeding fines. WHAT IS IT? Hillspeed is an accurate, easy to read digital speedometer which is constantly in your peripheral view whilst looking through the windscreen at the road ahead. Hillspeed provides a visual warning if you exceed any road speed you have chosen. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION Hillspeed operates from the vehicle's speed signals, converting the pulses to a visible kph reading, because the number of speed pilses per km varies from vehicle to vehicle, the Hillspeed is designed to calibrate at a road speed of 50kph. Simply select "CAL" mode, drive 50kpm, press one button and the readings displayed will be accurate at all road speeds. As vehicle speedos are usually slighty inaccurate it is better to use a GPS receiver to indicate an exact 50kph for calibration. The vehicle speedo will be out by whatever error exists in it (can be up to 5kph). FEATURES & BENEFITS Hillspeed operates everywhere in tunnels and cuttings, between tall buildings and on heavily timbered roads (GPS operated equipment will not operate in tunnels and may not work reliably in the other situations). Hillspeed incorporates a visable "overspeed" alarm which is set, changed or cancelled by pressing one button. The LED display is easy to read under all light conditions, a soothing yellow/green colour and deeply recessed to avoid direct sunlight falling on it. The display brightness is at a maximum in strong light conditions but automatically dims in low lights and at night. The Hillspeed, for the first time, allows constant monitoring of actual road speed while looking at the road ahead. The need to glance down at a hard to read analogue speedo and lose sight of possible road hazards for several seconds is completely removed. WHY INSTALL A HILLSPEED? You instantly become a safer driver. You reduce dramatically the danger of accidents, speeding fines and license demerit points. The Hillspeed is significantly cheaper than just one insurance excess, sppeding fine or loss of license.
Also, difficult light conditions can make it hard to read. Consider this; if your vehicle is travelling at 60 kph and it takes just 2 seconds to read your analogue speedometer, you will have travelled 33 metres blind.
